Do you own your voice "signature"? If not, how can you obtain it?

What do I mean by the voice "signature", you may ask?

What I mean by it is that your unique sound and style should be present in your performance.

Some people do not know how to connect with the sound their producing and how to own their voice.

They're simply copying to the T, the original singer, while covering the well known tune, or use the same sound they like in their so called original tune.

My specialty as a master vocal coach/consultant for many years, is to discover and uncover the artist's true spirit/voice.

I truly believe that your voice is your spirit and it has to be flown unlimitedly off of your physical body and to the universe, so to speak. And needless to say, the sound has to be flown upon design. After all, when the spaceship is launched, the astronauts or the tower are not guessing where it's going to end up - on the moon or on Mars. They pre-count and pre-design the destination, and means how the spaceship will get there, much in advance.

If the performer does not know how to get his/her's voice off their anatomical muscles (the spaceship off of the launching pad) and project it over and above their physical body, the spirit will not be unleashed and, in a manner of speaking, it will remain in its "physical jail".

If that "flying" component is not present, the voice will never become distinct and the performer will never own it, per say. He/she will be stuck in the karaoke bars for the lifetime and will never be able to realize the big dreams to succeed in the major music industry at large.

That brings us to a revolutionary Vocal Science technique and method, which teaches the vocal performer how to utilize the facial and abdominal muscles of their physical body for the ultimate use of their voice and sound.

Once the sound comes out on the surface from within, it does become unique and, so to speak, "signed".

Sometimes, while listening to the radio, you may not right away know whom the song played by the DJ does belong to, but you may recognize the voice. And if that occurs, you know that the particular artist has established his signature underneath of his sound.

Your fingerprints and your DNA do belong just to you.

The voice and the sound has to also become that and belong to you and to you only.

That will differentiate you from the mediocre singers, who just produce a little bit more than a noise.

Your tone, in this instance, will also become unique.

By my experience, the major movers and shakers in the music industry are looking exactly for that.

They want somebody unique looking and unique sounding.

They want distinction on every level.

So the moral of the above is: Once you own your voice, by the virtue of fact of knowing how to power it, without any strain or pain on your vocal anatomy, and how to deliver it to its aimed destination, without any heavy anatomic involvement, you will obtain your signature, which down the road may be worth millions of dollars, pounds or whichever other currency on Earth.

Vocal Science(TM) - Voice Repair Proof Method

What do I mean by that title, you might ask?

It is extremely peculiar, especially that 90% of my work nowadays is non-surgical voice repair.

How do you think I acquire the clients who do require the non-surgical voice repair?

My answer is,  I do have suppliers...?

Take a wild guess. Who do you think I call suppliers?

My "wild guess" would be - the well known vocal coaches and renowned music producers.

They successfully manufacture voice problems, i.e. vocal nodules, polyps, dysphonia...to name a few, and I, in turn, successfully attend to those problems.

It seems to be the perfect equation...?

For whom though?

I do not complain about the lack of business on that front, but what about the artists?

As we're witnessing now, every second one of them requires, never mind non-surgical, but quite evidently the surgical interference. 

How sad is that?

All of them have "the best team around them", or at least their management so claims.

Moreover, when anybody dares to give them a suggestion that maybe their team is not as successful as they might think, they take offence and confirm that their team is still the best, disregarding the fact that that very team produced the vocal problem in the first place for their artist.

The Vocal Science technique is the voice repair proof.

It recognizes that the vocal cords and the vocal box are not "made from steel", so to speak.

It minimizes and practically eliminates the wear and tear on ones vocal anatomy, as the constant pressure on the vocal box produces inflammation and growth of foreign cells.

The Vocal Science technique got it down to the science, no pun intended. It treats the voice as a physical material body and its theory in its core suggests to lift that sound off of one's vocal box and restructure it to the different set of muscles altogether (facial cavities).

The facial chambers (sinus cavities) will take over the pressure of the sound, and moreover, will embrace it, and then also will amplify the sound at least four times over, without any effort at all.

The facial muscles will concurrently work with the abdominal muscles, whereas the latter will produce the support for the lift of the sound and thus, the employment of all of it will practically eliminate the use of one's throat, larynx and vocal cords.

If the vocal anatomy is not engaged, or the least to say, engaged minimally, that would mean that the person who adapts the Vocal Science technique will be voice repair proof, as by the law of averages, if it's not broken, why fix it?

Vocal Repair. Alternative methods of treatment. What are they and how useful are they?

For Many Years, I am advocating non-surgical voice repair for my clients.

Some of them are singers, some are not.

Quite a lot of them have similar symptoms and often, similar causes of their voice loss.

When we talk about those who are not singers, it is somewhat a different feel and perception from both sides, my own included.

With the singers, it's usually a straight forward deal.

Their career is based on the use of their voice.

Before they could sing, however, not necessarily up to professional standards, (which is what caused the problem in the first place) but now they cannot sing at all.

It is a tragedy to say the least, as all of their dreams are shattered and performances and tours are postponed until further notice, or even indefinitely like in John Mayer's case.

It is interesting enough that those artists are not looking for any gimmicks with respect of the means of how to fix their voices, and primarily, willing to do anything to get back on stage.

Singers also have an understanding that something is wrong with their vocal anatomy and that it is the anatomy itself which has to be fixed, as well as the new vocal technique that has to be adapted, whereas, with the speakers, the perception of their recovery is entirely different.

They, for some reason, think that anything and everything has to be fixed, but not their throats, vocal cords or any other part of their vocal anatomy for that matter.

They also are not aware that they have to adapt a new way of speaking to avoid another re-occurrence of the voice loss.

To my surprise, I've heard that they are working on anything and everything to improve their voice but the vocal anatomy.

They use chiropractors, osteopaths, reiki practitioners and what not.

They're also, literally standing upside down and on their heads while doing their yoga exorcises, eating raw foods and using some unknown herbal and homeopathic remedies in hopes that their voice will miraculously reappear...?

It's all good, but not instead of the repair of the vocal anatomy. It is good along with it.

They are clearly missing the point.

The healthy and clean body definitely will help with the overall recovery, but it does not substitute the actual work on voice mechanics and on the proper application of the voice.

I guess that some of them think along the lines, "Never mind that the fridge is broken, let's work on the stove. It might help-fingers crossed". (British expression)
